How to easily compare 2 Excel files online

Our tool allows you to quickly and easily compare two Excel or CSV files. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use it:

Step 1: Select your files

Click "Choose file" for each file you want to compare. You can upload .xlsx, .xls, or .csv files. Make sure both files have similar structure for best results.

Step 2: Configure settings (optional)

If your files contain multiple sheets, select a specific sheet to compare from the dropdown menu. You can also exclude certain columns from comparison by entering column names separated by commas.

Step 3: Run comparison

Click the "Compare files" button to start the analysis. Processing happens entirely in your browser, ensuring security and privacy of your data.

Step 4: View results

Results are displayed in a color-coded table where you can easily see differences between files. Highlighted cells show where values differ between the two files.

Tips for best results:

• Make sure your files have similar headers
• Clean your data before comparison by removing extra spaces
• For large files, consider splitting them into smaller sections
• Use the column exclusion feature to ignore irrelevant fields like timestamps or unique IDs
🆕 Automatic column alignment: Files with same columns in different order are automatically aligned by column names for accurate comparison
